ERH Consult has contracted to the Department of Hydraulic, Maritime and Environmental Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia the realization of a reduced model two-dimensional 1:40 scale of the landfill of a dam currently being projected in Chile. The objective of the study was to determine the coefficient of drainage of the landfill in different degrees of flooding and grounding of the back-dam. The optimum length and position of the damping bowl has also been defined.

The works, carried out in the hydraulic channel of the Laboratory concluded at the end of November and the results are already being applied in the ongoing project.
