The «Melo Hydroelectric Power Plant» project is located on the Caliboro river, which is fed from the main channel of the Association.
The plant is run-off river type and is dimensioned for a flow of 13.5 m³/s, with an installed power of 2.8 MW.
It has a low-rise weir and a conventional intake that feed a 3-km-long trapezoid channel that connects to a forebay from which, through a penstock D2400 and 860 m length, links to the power house, equipped with a single vertical axis Kaplan turbine. In the same building are located the electrical and control facilities as well as the transformerTASKS
